Add dates and deadlines to items

You can easily add dates to any item to track deadlines and events. Here’s how to enter and manage dates efficiently:
Adding a date using the “@” symbol
To enter a date, simply type the @ symbol followed by a date-related term in the content of your item.
2.
Type the @ symbol: Start by typing @ in the item’s content where you want the date to appear.
3.
Enter a Date or Term: After typing @, start typing the date or event, such as now, today, tomorrow, next Monday, in three weeks or a specific date like 2025-07-14.
4.
Select the Suggested Date: The app will suggest a single date based on your input. For example, typing @next Monday will suggest Next Monday — May 5, 2025.
5.
Confirm the Date: Once the suggested date matches your intended date, select it from the dropdown to confirm. This ensures that the date is recognized as a valid entry and will be searchable later.
Adding time to the date
You can also add a specific time after entering the date, which is perfect for setting event times.
2.
Add the time after the date: Type the date as usual, followed by the time.
3.
Select the Suggested Date and Time: After typing the full date and time, select it from the suggestion to confirm.
✨ Example
@tomorrow 3pm will set the date to tomorrow at 3:00 PM.
Using the Date Picker (Mobile)
On mobile devices, there’s an additional way to add dates using a Date Picker. This can be accessed when the editor is open:
2.
Open the Editor: While editing an item, look for the footer menu.
3.
Select the Date Picker: Tap on the date picker icon in the footer menu to bring up a calendar interface.
4.
Choose Your Date: Pick a date from the calendar.
Searching for items with dates
Once a date is selected, it becomes part of the item and can be used in search queries. When the item’s editor is closed, you can click on the date within the item’s content to quickly search for other items that contain the same date. For more advanced search options, see the Search Operators section.
